Jonathan, your reply was quite interesting as I, too, have had the disease for the past 5 years. There was a period when it wasn't active after having been on the prednisone treatment for 2 1/2 years. About 6 weeks ago it returned, again I'm taking 7 1/2 mg; however doctor friends tell me they are quite concerned about my taking the drug due to the long range damage it can do to the body such as you mentioned. My interest is of another drug which would be helpful when the inflamation is not so severe. My doctor tells me there is no cure; expect it to return. NOT VERY ENCOURAGING IS IT? Trust your Mom gets some relief and can be active again.
