I'm an adult who suffered this horrible condition. It was only years later that i realised that firstly, it had a name, and secondly i was not the only one. I remember soiling problems from age five or six. I remember being spanked for not using the toilet. Sometime later I was taken to the doctors, seen at a hospital outpatients. My treatment was laxatives + 15 minutes on the toilet every morning. If the spoonful of laxative didn't work it was a suppository. Nothing was explained to me, I was just told what was going to happen, told to co-operate or I'd be spanked. It worked eventually thank goodness, but was a truly horrible exreience.
