I was also diagnosed with shingles this past week. My doctor said it is a revisit of a dormant chicken pox virus and gave me the medication used to treat herpes, since it is the same virus.... However, I am curious as to what symptoms to look for in shingles, since I have not seen the rash the doctor says I will soon be getting. Right now I have had predominant pain on my left side near my rib cage and radiating towards my back. Would like to hear from others who have already gotten over shingles and how the symptoms were manifested in them. Thanks.
