plantar fasciitis

The best thing that I have done is having my foot taped. The pain is almost all gone. If the tape is too tight you will hurt as bad or worse, or too loose, it won't help you a bit. You can tell immediately after you put your foot on the floor. What the tape does is keep your heel in place. The pain from plantar fasciitis is caused from the heel being stretched backward, flattening out your arch. The tape will let your foot heal while it is stationary. You should keep the tape on 24 hrs a day. You can get some tape that the podiatrist use, and can learn to tape it yourself. Also, as strange as it may sound, if you stop eating 3-4 hours before you are most active, the pain will decrease by about 80%. But you must not eat at all. I think this is tied to food putting calcium into your blood stream as my doctor believes. Ice is a help, but only temporary. Heat, such as hot epsom salt water hasn't seemed to help me any. I don't know if the tape is possible with someone who wears high heels, but I would try small strips of tape along the bottom of the problem foot, for me it was my left. The pads I bought cost $350 and has helped, but not as much as the tape. Feel free to email me and I will try to explain how to tape your foot is anyone is interested.
