My husband had a knee replacement done three years ago. He was in the hospital for a week and the recovery was about 3 months. He says the new joint is doing fine but when he over does it - it hurts at the point when the bone is connected to the new joint. He said the surgery for his other knee -- reshaping the knee -- was more painful then having the replacement done. He says he is glad he had it done -- being able to walk with no pain is great. He may still have discomfort some time but no pain -- which is great.
