Polymyalgia Hip Pain

Kelley

Message 7 of 7 Previous

I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which is a chronic pain disorder. I began with an injury to my low back/tailbone. Through the years, and after several medicine, I underwent back surgery to remove 2 lipoms's (fat cell tissue) that were the size of lemons. This helped, but not for long. I then went to a pain clinic, and underwent Trigger Point Injections, where they inject a combination of steroids and other meds right into the affected areas. I have 4 on my lower back. This did help, but again, not for long. Between my low back hurting and my severe hip pain, I was very limited on any type of activity. I began going to physical therapy and was going 5 days a week for months. This helped tremendously, we worked slow, but it helped over time. It was very painful, and I had electrotherapy 3 times a week, along with wearing my back brace, and a lift in my shoe. They had found that due to my injury my hip pain was coming from not be aligned with the other hip. After a while they have it almost exactly level. Since then, with being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I have began to do new things, I am on no more prednisone, or any other meds. I do get flare-ups once in a while, from the fibromyalgia, and I was recently out of work for 4 days, but now I am feling better again. Hope this helps!
