Chronic Sinus Disease

So far I have found no magical cure. I had my first sinus surgery almost three years ago in June. Just after it I had 3 sinus infections during the next six months. I now live at the doctors office for them. I currently have one now and the doctor has figured out that I need at least two weeks of antibiotics every time I go in. But it only returns in about 4 - 6 weeks. Since I have allergies aslo, my ENT has me on Nasacort AQ, Allegra and Asteline (as needed). He says these will control the sinusitis. I keep telling him that they stop my back sinuses up when I use so I go on and off of them. I have migraines also (Stress, Cluster, Tension and those caused by my sinuses. I take Zomig for the migranes. My front sinuses are fine. My back sinuses are the problem. I have severe drainage that causes a cronic cough from the tickle in my throat especially when I get hot or have to talk a lot. It's really aggrivating. I really do not know what to do. I have thought about having the sinus surgery again, but have not done it yet. I hate to have it done if I am not going to get any releif or if they may get worse. One problem with my first surgery was that the bone structure of my nose was not large enough for the tube to pass through, so my doctor had to remove bone in both nostrils. Sometimes I think that maybe he was unable to get the tube far enough into my back sinus cavities to remove everything. I have asked him about it and he said that was not the case. He can't really give me a satisfactory answer as to why I now have more problems. For the record, I am a smoker and all he can say is to quit smoking. That smoking is causing the sinus problems. My mother has the same problem and has never smoked in her life. Her doctor has given her the same treatment as mine. She still has no releif. I stopped smoking for about 6 months and the sinus problem did not go away nor did it ease up. Don't get me wrong, I do NOT promote smoking to anyone. I have just been unsuccessful in quiting. Maybe they will figure it out sometime. Sure wish they will hurry up!!!
