My name is Maggie. Just a thought -- have you had any recent surgery? I had hives for some 18 months that appeared without reason shortly af- ter a laproscopic surgery wherein they left metal clips and staples in me (titanium). I am unable to wear any pierced earrings. Have you checked to see if this might be something that has happened to you? I am also allergic to cats but they cause me to have asthma type symptoms rather than hives. I have found several other on the internet who also had surgery, had implants (one with a titanium hip replacement, and then found they kept breaking out in hives for some unknown reason. I had to go get my own hospital records to see and find the answers for myself as I was totally unaware clips and staples were left behind. You can actually see the clips and staples when you hold your xrays up to the light
