Hello Arlene, I am 17 years old. I was diagnosed with Benign Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy when I was 16. I am also taking Depakote and have been taking it ever since my 1st seizure in December of '99. I have gained over 40 lbs and have gone into depression. I've seen several counselors and also taken Paxil but I really don't want to be dependant on antidepressants. It would be really great if you and I could talk on the internet because no one really understands what exactly I am going through. My parents think that the weight gain is because of me eating all the time. But I have always eaten that way and NEVER gained this much weight in one year. I would really appreciate if we could talk.
