I too am on Depakote and have experienced the tiredness, weight gain, but am experiencing some lows but I can't say it is depression. I feel very safe on this medication as I have been seizure free for 4 years. I did try a medicine for the weight gain and it made things worse so I just deal with the weight gain and try to make the best of each day and not worry about the weight and take it one day at a time. Hope this will help you to maybe look at things in another presepective. This may not what you wanted to read, but I do understand where you are at. Don't know the answers for the medication replacement but take it easy on your self.
