I had your symptoms for years until things got so bad I sought professional help. I would give anything to have done so earlier in my life, and so I urge you to do the same. It will make a world of difference, and you deserve not to be unhappy or hampered by these symptoms. I hope you are covered by insurance for psychiatric care, since psychiatrists can diagnose, eliminate physical causes (they are MD's), and prescribe medication if needed. GP's may prescribe medication, but they are not specialists with the necessary knowledge to do so with the degree of knowledge and expertise of a psychiatrist. PLEASE do not be afraid of medication---if a good psychiatrist prescribes it and monitors you as you take it, you will have no addiction or reaction problems. The years you may lose just wondering what's going on, and thinking it doesn't really make a difference in your life can never be recovered. If you truly feel the way you describe, take action and don't feel guilty for needing a psychiatrist---getting on medication has been the best thing in my life (except for my daughter, whom I would not have been able to raise without the help of medication!) Why wait? GOod luck!
