The relationship between growth and adderall

I am the mother of a 14 year old ADD son. He took Ritalin for two years and is now taking Adderal. His father is 6'1'' and I am 5'9''. My son is taller than everyone in his eighth grade class. Heredity is a very powerful thing. I think it is possible that your son has simply taken the heighth characteristic from your side of the family. Nothing but my son's lunch appetite has ever been affected by either medication. But boy does that boy eat a huge breakfast!! The medication only works well and can be understood by your son if he uses it consistantly in all events of his day. My very bright and socially active son would not go through a summer without it or any sport that he plays. It makes his friends more understanding and he knows what to expect of himself. I have offered to take him off of the meds several times but he thinks it would be a waste of good potiential. Hope this helps.
