Pain Relief for Sciatica

I started getting severe attacks of pain all down my leg a few months ago. My chiropractor gave me an exercise and it may be working--the last attack was brief and not severe. The exercise is simple. Lie flat and shorten one leg by pulling it up at the hip. Hold a few seconds then switch to the other leg. I do about ten reps. This creates space in the low spine.
