I need to say a few things about your letter. First, it is not Gangrene; Gangrene can kill you. OR, if you have gangrene from an open sore, get to the hospital immediately. From a fall, you could have a hairline fracture of your tailbone, or you could have damaged one of your discs in your back. It DOES need to get fixed. What many people do not know is that most hospitals have made allowances for people who need medical care and can't afford it. Contact the hospital which is closest to where you live. Talk to their accounting department and ask them how to APPLY for medical assistance as a low-income person. They will provide you with a form to fill out. Also, depending on which state you live in, there are now several State programs which help people out with medical expenses when they can't afford it. The Welfare Dept. can provide you with some telephone numbers. In Mass. it is called MassHealth. Please go to the Emergency Room nearest you, and ask for help there! IF it is an infection of any kind...you NEED to be taking antibiotics. A blood infection is very dangerous to have.
