It has been several years since I have had a flair-up bad enough to have to have shots, but for smaller flair-ups, I have found that Ultravate Ointment has helped tremendously. It is made by Westwood Squibb. As soon as I begin using it, it reduces the swelling in my fingers, and closes up the cracks in my skin. Good luck!
