I am not a doctor. But am afflicted w/ sarcoidosis. Which is in my sinuses and joints in the form of inflammation. I too, was started on steroids and went bizerk. I had all the same feelings you are experiencing. Since you say that part of your illness has something to do with you body rheumatically, have you ever seen a rheumatologist? i say this because after three years i now see one. He has prescribed Methotrexate. This is a medicine given to Rheumatoid patients w/ great success. I take 20 mgs. a day and my joint pain is gone, and my outlook is more positive since the dreadful steroid side effects are gone. It's worth at least asking your doctor.AND REMEMBER, doctors don't always know everything.And that's ok. Just look for one who willl listen and be knowledgable. Good Luck.
