Blood cloting in the legs something to help

many times, just the fact tha the legs are elevated is enough to stop the pain. Definitely is extremely uncomfortable when legs are lowered - almost immediately. Interesting thought using ice. Have always heard that heat is the desired medium to use. Hey, if it works - hooray. Watch the legs for swelling, redness, temperature and pain in the calf. Stay in close touch with doctor. I believe that the incidence for a DVT (deep vein thrombosis - in other words a clot) may just possibly be higher with a history of a thrombophlebitis. If you ever bump, briuse, or injure a leg in any way, be especially alert for symptoms - and your doctor will be your best ally - don't be afraid to ask question if you have any doubt. That's what we all have a doctor for. Keep those legs up - good luck.
