Sarcoidosis Liver

S T

Message 2 of 3 Previous Next

Hello, I once was attacked by Sarcoidosis back in 1979. No one knows what causes it, but I still believe that I contracted it by breathing either the cold Pine Tree-Filled air, or that of the interior aroma of a new car that I had recently purchase. Nevertheless, I was diagnosed with the initially debilitating disease via a skin biopsy. You see, I had the classic text book symptoms, from skin nodules to "dry eyes," loss of appetite (loss a tremendous amount of weight within a month's time), no saliva, weakness and fatigue(I had to be carried up a flight of stairs), and the list goes on and on. I was started on Prednisone of 60 mg per day; yep, developed the "Moon Face." I was opn the medication for umpteen years when I decided to stop taking the medicine; was tired of the side-effects, and what it was doing to my liver. Stopping "Cold Turkey" is not the proper way to come off of Prenisone, but I trusted the Lord that I would be just fine, and I have been since that day. This disease affects all organs in the body. My heart rate would sometimes just take off to the beat of about well over 100 beats per minute, often time triggered by just the smell of cigarette smoke. I thank the Lord that I am still here today, what with the rapid heart rate and all. I'm pretty confident that you will come through this experience with flying colors. Just hang in there and follow your doctor's instructions.
