I too once got this. I got it from a kitten we found that was abandoned and covered with a bloody flea infestation. I too had bumps and terrible itching. It took a while to figure out where it came from, but my daughter and I both got them on our chest area which was where we were both cuddling the kitten. I went to the Kaiser dermatologists who gave me all kinds of stuff to use, including a quell type of soap to wash with and dermacide creams to use. We did this for months in the whole household and still wee were not able to get rid of it. Most vets did not know of this either. Finally I found an expensive vet dermatologist, who identified the condition as walking dandruff. She told how to treat all the household pets (4 of them). This we did over a three week period. After the exhaustive and severe treatment of the pets did we get rid of them, never to return to this date. Treating yourself does not work, the pets must be treated with a very potent flea type spray which can be purchased at a pet supply store. The amount to be used and the timeing of the spraying is important which the vet should be able to provide information on. I was so suprised of how no Kaiser dermatologist knew of this. They had us treating ourselves with potent insecticides when it would never go away as long as it came from the cat/animals. Thankfull for being rid of the walking dandruff. I wish you luck.
