In response to the woman who is dating the man with RP. I am a woman who continues to drive, except at night.. I was diagnosed 1 year ago, and seem to have adapted to my life that I have been living for some time. I do not however, drive in heavy traffic or at night. I rarely go out in the evening unless of course someone is with me.. My husband works in the evenings and I am basically secluded at home. Unless friends help out. My husband is very supportive of me. I asked my husband what he would say to you to encourage you. His answer was, if you drive to take the wheel and you can go and do what ever you want. Just take him by the arm and lead the way. I am a 37 year old very independent woman. Your significant other must be a very proud person, and I can understand where he is coming from. It is not a easy thing to live with, but complete blindness would be severly worse. My biggest fear is that I have passed this dreadful disease down to my 2 boys.
