I have had PR for almost two years. The prednisone takes away all the pain but the Prednison also produces symptoms that are hard to handle. I started out with 30 mg. a day and right now I am taking 6 mg. I have tried to cut back to 5 but when I do so many of the symptoms return. I have also been hospitalized twice with pulmonary emboli and I blame the Prednisone but the doctors say that it would not cause this problem. It is a very hard to handle disease but I can't understand why you would still have pain when you are taking Prednosone because the dose is controlled by the pain. My sed rate has been almost normal through the whole disease and at the beginning before going on Prednisone I was almost not able to move because of the pain in my upper arms and shoulders. I hear there is a new cure? Have you heard this?
