I'm not a doctor, but my brother is a keratoconus sufferer, and living a full productive life. He too was devastated when he heard about it. Don't give up on yourself. You can be treated in the meantime with contact lenses, life need not come to a halt until you have a transplant. Some with keratoconus, never need a transplant as their vision is okay with contact lenses. It can be scary to feel you are losing your sight, but hang in there.
