Hi I was reading your message and wanted to reply. I am a pediatric nurse and we had a case as you had described. The situation we had was a girl and her brother who constantly go strep throat,after having them come back a week after being treated with Penicillan, we tested the whole family both children, and there mother and father none of them were the carries, the MD that I worked with asked them if they had any pet's. The mom stated they had two dog's , the doctor then asked her to have both of them checked by the vet to see if either had strep. It turned out that the dog was the carrier. It sounded very silly to me at first but they had the dog treated and the children have not been back in for strep in almost a year now. Hope this helps. Rachel
