I have a son that has had alopecia areata since about age 10 yrs old and he is now 25 yrs old. We have tried just about everything --did not try the shots because he got so frustrated trying to get his hair to regrow. He finally made the decision himself to stop looking for a cure and just shaved his head. Thank goodness it was just coming in style!He really went through a lot of emotional turmoil tho while going through middle school and high school---from students and teachers alike! I do know some people that have had good results with the injections in the scalp. My son just chose not to try them because everytime he got a scratch on his scalp then more hair would come out. I wish u lots of luck with your treatments!!I certainly wish that they could find a cure for this and lots of other things too!!
