Possible Cure?

I have had a chronic sinus infection for nearly eight years now. Each time allergies or a cold gets my nose running, it sparks up the old infection. Once that happens, post-nasal drip causes me to cough and it takes me between 3 and 8 weeks to get it to go dormant again. V.A. doctors have told me that the infection is resistant to 3rd generation atibiotics now and that surgery is now my only alternative. I confess I am frightened of surgery having never needed it in the first 44 years of life. Last week I dreamt that I went to the VA complaining about the infection and was introduced to a new doctor who told me he treats it by applying local anaesthetic and filling the sinus cavity with saline solution chilled to freezing. The salt keeps it from turning solid at 32 degrees and the temperature kills the infection without damaging the sensitive linings. I awoke hoping that the method was not a dream but something I had heard but not really paid attention to, but heard. No luck so far, but if any of you have heard of such a thing or are scheduled to speak to your doctor soon, ask him about this and let me know what you learn.
