My sister had her tonsils adenoids removed when she was 5 so she was a little older but from what my dad was telling me before i got mine out last night that the doctors try to scare you..he said my sis on the 2nd day was drinking soda and eating soft foods but like eggs and stuff..he also said that after a few days she started to ween herself off the pain meds and only took it when it hurt her...his doctor also told him that if she wants to eat it let her cause shes the one with the tonsils adenoids out and so she will stop eating it if it hurts...but its been 2 yrs for her and she has gotten a cold here and there but nothing severe and she now can sleep through the night without waking up so it is for the better for your son to get this done if it's the only thing left...let me know how it all went...
