Nicole... I'm not sure if it is hereditary or not. I have 5 siblings and they do not show any of these symtoms, nor do my parents. To my knowledge nobody in my extended family does either. My doc said she doesn't think so. But I have a question for you. You had a stroke? At what age? I'm 33 and have had the angioedema and cronic urticaria for probably 20 years. My condition is getting worse as I get older. My doc has me on zantac, zyrtc, bentyl. These meds are not helping. Another question. How much does this disease effect your everyday life.. I have a son age 5. I feel terrible for him, he wants me to do things with him all the time, but I'm never up to it. Getting up in the morning to go to work is very hard for me. My life is falling apart because of this. Any thoughts?
