I have been on prednesone for PMR for almost 3 years now. I stay 1 month to 2 months on dosage. If my sed rate goes down I am reduced by 1/2 mg.I am currently on 2 mg. I will stay this way for 2 months and then down if possible to 1 and 1/2 for 2 months. My doctor says you have to take it slow or big time flare-up will occur. I had an original sed of 150 and was able to start out with 15 mg and have been reducing for 3 years. I do have some aches and pains and stiffness but nothing like the beginning.. I do believe it will go away but when? I also take tons of RX to help stem some of the problems you get with prednesone.. Hope you know you aren't alone. My husband gives me a bad time about taking so much medicine.. I am not about to go off to show how fast I can get sick again... Peggy
