My daughter was diagonosed with WG 10 years ago at age 14-very young for this illness. She has relapsed twice. Has never tried methotrexate but her current rheumatologist said she will do it with the next relapse(pray it will never happen) The cytoxan is not pleasant, but she went to school, played tennis and softball. There was significant hair loss and nausea. Ask the doc for odanzitron???spelling for nausea. She absolutely hated the prednisone, but it is a necessity. I have done and continue to do tons of research on this topic. The good news is this autoimmune illness is almost always treatable-but the treatment is very long. I would love to hear from you and your husband as to how his treatment is progressing.
