Low Sex Drive

Dear SB: It would help to know the rest of your situation, as a low sex drive can be caused by numerous things besides low testosterone. Are you married, and if so, is it a happy marriage? Are you employed and do you enjoy your job? The reason I ask is that no amount of testosterone replacement can cure stress, which is actually the number 1 sex drive killer! For the sake of argument, let's say your stress level is low. First, invest in some Progesta Care for men (by Life-flo). This will prevent the testosterone from changing into the "bad" form and elevate the level of testosterone that is actually available. Since such a large portion of "unopposed" testosterone is converted to the form that can lead to prostate problems, you should do this before anything else! Next, make sure your diet is well-balanced, including a good vitamin/mineral supplement, and that you are getting plenty of rest and regular exercise. This will help regulate your natural hormone production and counteract any vitamin or mineral deficiency that can be affecting your sex drive. Next, look for a male supplement that includes L-arginine, Ginseng (chinese, not american) and Yohimbe. Regardless of what the bottle directions say, it is best to start with only 2-3 PER WEEK for the first week or two, then 1 every other day, then 1 a day until you feel "normal" again. As soon as you reach that point, you should back off on the dosage to the lowest amount per week to maintain the "normalacy." This last part is very important as both L-arginine and Yohimbe can raise your heart rate, so it is important to find the lowest maintenance dose that works. In case you are wondering why I know so much about this, both my husband and I have had to go through this and the doctors really do not treat the problem correctly. I had to find my own cure (the L-arginine + female hormone balancing herbs, vitamins and minerals) and now am having to help him the same way. Good luck to you, and let me know how it goes!
