Do the epidural type injections really help with disks in your back?

I have had two epidual injections in my lower back and schedule for the final one this next Thursday. They have helped me a lot. Before the injections, my pain was at level 10. I could sit, stand or walk. Severe pain down the front of my leg and lower back, fanny and back of leg. I had to get around with a walker. Two days after the first injection, I was able to walk around the house without the walker. It's been 3 weeks since I had the first shot. Tonight, for the first time in 2 1/2 months, I was able to go to Target and actually walk around the store without my leg hurting or burning! And I didn't have to ride in one of those electric scooters either! I'm hoping these will help for a long time. They already told me that evidentally I'll have to have surgery but we're just trying to delay for as long as possible.
