I had my tonsiled removed last thursday, aug 21st. I'm 20 years old and i must tell you all that this is the most painful thing i have ever gone through. A week later i feel the pain is still the same and things arent looking better. Everyone says after the first 7 days things should start to feel better, but it doesnt feel that way to me, at least not yet. I am taking antibiotics twice a day(which tastes like bubble gum) and am on pain killers from day 1. The pain killers are supposed to be taken every 4 hrs and i can barely wait until the 4 hours are up so i can take another pill. And i need to dilute the pills in water to be able to take them. drink LOTS of fluids and make sure they are ice cold that helps! I keep ice packs by my throat most of the time..it helps numb my neck and relieves the pain a bit. Avoid dairy products at first, sherbert ice cream is better. Pudding, jello, soup, applesauce is all im still able to eat due to the pain. Im hoping things will start to get better really soon and if anyone ever has any questions please feel free to email me, i'll help answer anything you want to know.
