You can only get chicken pox once, however, the virus remains in your body for life and may or MAY NOT reactivate at some later time in life as SHINGLES (sometimes called adult chicken pox). This is a very serious illness and should be treated IMMEDIATELY to avoid serious nerve damage to whatever part of the body the virus erupts in.
