Please know that "fever blisters" are caused by the herpes virus. Therefore, they are contagious!! Please don't touch them without washing your hands afterwards. Please go to your Dr. for the prescription medications that are readily available for herpes/fever blisters. One is called Valtrex, which can be taken as a preventative. There is also an ointment, Acyclivar, that speeds healing by at least 50%. And if you feel an outbreak coming on, sometimes applying the ointment can help ward it off. Don't let your Dr. tell you that you can't use the ointment on your lip/mouth area. I know many people who do and not harm, just quicker healing. Oh, and keep in mind that this is a contagious thing so don't kiss anyone with it! Take care,
