I was just diagnozed with LMS 10 days ago after having a hysterectomy. During a routine physical in April of 2002 my Dr. thought I might have a fibroid. I was told that they are never cancerous and that after having an ultrasound it was suggested that I have a hysterectomy. I delayed the operation until September and by the time I had surgery the fibroid had really grown. It was the largest fibroid that my obgyn had ever taken out and the first LMS so she was in as much shock as we are. All I have had done so far is a blood test and will be going in for a cat scan and other tests in the next few days. I am amazed at how little information there is on malignant fibroids on the internet..most information tells you there isn't such a thing....I am planning on beating this thing..I have too much to live for yet.I am only 49 years old with a wonderful husband, son and wife and grandchild. Keep positive thoughts!
