According to my Dad it could be a week. My Dad is 80 yrs.old & has had dialysis for 2 yrs. 2 wonderful yrs. w/ family. He also has other health problems but still can drive & has a new hobby, model trains. He has his dialysis 3 x's a week at the hospital & must stick to a diet. Yes afterwards he feels lousy. At anytime he can stop dialysis. Hope this helps you.
