Hi: I had a very large stone in my right kidney 40 years ago and the Doctor surgically removed it. I was in agony prior to the operation. The Doctor said that it would be very dangerous for me to leave the stone in the kidney and the whole kidney could turn into stone. This was a much more dangerous operation 40 years ago but I recovered without a problem and never had another occurance. In fact the Dr. said that he cut it out in such a way that no stone could grow in that kidney again and he was right. Get a second opinion and fast. Today they have improved techniques. I am sure you will be out of the hospital in no time and everything will be fine.
