Anna, I am also scheduled for surgery for tonsil removal in early Oct. I have read all these stories and letters and I am as scared as you are. I also have a blood disorder that causes low platelets and increases my bleeding time, so it really is making me uncomfortable. What say we just run off and don't do it? haha! I guess that wouldn't really be the thing to do, but it's a good thought....I am 51, and I am a real chicken about pain! I have had very large tonsils for years and they would never take them out for the bleeding problem, but now they feel that the bleeding problem is not as bad as the breathing issue, since my tonsils are so large they are obstructing my airway, so I will end up either with no tonsils or no breathing. I supposet that no tonsils is better than no living and breathing. I suppose I will just have to grin and bear it nad hope that the doctors know what they are doing. If you want, we can keep in touch with information we find and compare notes afterward? I can always use a new friend...and the information that we share might alleviate all our worries!
