It is always much more difficult to have your Tonsils & Adenoids removed as an adult; adults have more pain plus the possible danger of bleeding. To still have the pain at 2 weeks is not really that unusual but I'm surprised your not taking the usual pain medication which you failed to say the name of it because it makes you to groggy/drowsy. I would advise you to take less of the prescribed pain medication; if it's in a tablet form you could cut the tablet or could crush it between 2 spoons & take less of a dosage. Tylenol isn't usually as good as a Rx. pain medication. If still having pain with the Tylenol, try taking an additional Tylenol tablet/capsule which might better assist you. If you want to take less of your Rx. pain medication, you could also take 1 Tylenol tab./caps. with it. Continue with your Ice Cream, Popsicles and soups as needed. You could also supplement your fluid, calorie, vitamin, & mineral intake by drinking some special fluids such as SlimFast, Ensure etc. which you don't need a M.D.'s order for. Call your Surgeon immediately if you experience any bleeding or are still having the same amount of pain in 1 week's time. Good luck. You may email me back at anytime.
