I think your asking the wrong people! First I would check with your state DMV and see what the law is. Then finding a driving school. I would also ask his doctor what he thought about the idea. Most importantly...you know your son better than anyone. If you would feel safe in the car with him, without feeling like you had to be a "backseat driver", than you have your answer. I've known a few people with Downs syndrome. There has only been one I would be safe in a car with. Perhaps your son falls into that catagory. Only you would know that. Good Luck!
