My 6 yr old daugther had severe cases of head lice 4 times in 1 yr. I did get it once. I never cut her hair or mine . We both have very long hair. I washed all her bed clothes, clothes we had worn,cleaned the car seat, shampooed our hair with Nix and used a lice egg removing kit on her and me. We also had to shampoo the carpets and clean all the hair brushes, combs, and hair ties. After all this, the lice finally disappeared and we have never had them again.The egg removal kit and the combing with a lice comb did more than the shampoo did.Hope this helps.
