I have two sons with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), ages 21 and 25 and am, along with my husband head of the CGD Association which was started in 1982. There are currently over 600 CGD patients on the data base. All infection, are contagious, to non CGD and CGD patients. Infecting organisms can be virus, bacteria, or fungus. Sores, such as cold sores are very contagious. Many CGD patients are prone to sores. Also carriers of CGD have more sores than the normal population. I am a carrier of CGD. I would like to get in contact with you about your nephews as I have a lot of medical data from medical journals on sores. I wish them well.
