Both of my sons used accutane for the treatment of acne in their teens(they are now both in their mid twenties. Neither one has had any recurrance of acne. One son did have to take it for a longer period of time than the other as his was more severe and stubborn, but it was so very effective! I do not know if you are male or female, but there are concerns of birth defects if you are female and are taking it during a pregnancy. Be certain if you are female to take contraceptives before and during your use of accutane. I also know that I was told there may be joint problems for those who take it, but neither of my sons have any any problem with this. You will however, have to get periodic blood tests to be certain that your liver continues to function normally. There have been no problems with this with my sons during or since their treatment.
