One word of caution regarding self prescribed large doses of potassium - it can lead to hyperkalemia (excessive amount of potassium in the blood), which can lead to lethal dysrythmia's (An abnormal and deadly cardiac rhythm). An interesting note is that either too low or too high serum potassium levels can both cause similar (and deadly) abnormal heart rhythm's - best to check it out with your physician before self medicating in this area. He or she can do blood tests that measure your electrolyte balance initially, and periodically during theraphy to insure you are in an acceptable range - it is a small price to pay when you weight the alternative. Best of luck!
