Hello My Son has chronic Asthma, He was put on Predison 3 years ago. He took it daily. Sometimes he was on high doses (due to breathing problems). He has gained allot of weight, he look's puffy, He is always sweating-He is so warm, even in the winter time, where we live we get snow and cold conditions,He'll be waring short's when he is inside the house, the rest of us have warm sweat suits. His feet do get puffy and if he stands allot they get sore,we recently bought him those jell inserts that go inside the shoe, they seem to be helping. There is a down side to taking a steriod daily and that is you can get Addisons Disease, My son got that from taking steriods daily. When you take a steriod daily your addrenial glands (which release a natural steriod), become lazy and they shut down. My son had gotten deathly ill, for days the Doctors couldn't figure it out, I knew in my heart it wasn't good, I have never seen him so ill. Finially His Asthma Doctor ran a cortisol test and that is when we found out he had Addison Disease. He had a really sickly year that year, he was in the hospital about 12 times, now we are more stable,I would talk to you Doctor about it, Anyone who takes steriods daily, this could happen to you!!!! So Please Be Carefull.
