S1 Radiculophy and nerve damage

I can sure sympathize with you with the nerve damage. I too have L4-L5 and S1 and went to a pain clinic and had three caudal steroid epidurals, which made me much worse than before. The Dr. made a mistake and damaged the sciatic nerve worse. I have had physical therapy, on huge doses of Neurontin and have just been changed from Vioxx to Bextra. Also am going to a Chiropractor who has the Cox distraction table that is suppose to do similar to decompression surgery. With all of this I am walking better and doing much better than before. Certainly not cured. I was also sent to an Orthopedic Surgeon who is working with me. He said they could not fuse my back since there is too many places involved, but possibly could relieve some of the nerve pain with (I think) decompression surgery. I hope you find the help you need. I don't know where you live, but the Orthopedic Surgeon is at OSU in Columbus, OH. Good luck, Lou
