I have had IBS for over 20 years now. Occassionally I have very bad flare ups like you posted. My diet effects it a lot, as does physical excercise. I also have Fibromyalgia. I have been much of a couch potato for the last year. I worked up till the end of last summer. I could not deal w/ the everyday pain anymore. I've done a lot of resting and recouperating. Now I'm feeling a bit better. I started an exercise program of light swim areobics and very light weight and balance training. W/ the combination of the 2 and medication and lots of rest - I am able to go on. Hope this has helped in some way.
