I have Holt-Oram syndrome. I am male, 43 years old, the "funny" thumbs and a VSD that was succesfully repaired at age 4. I also have a natural 3 1/2 year old son who does not have HOS. I am very healthy now although as a child I had boughts of bronchitis and pnuemonia. My thumbs have only caused me slight embarassment but otherwise I work with them OK. In fact I played a little guitar when I was younger. Best of luck to you.
