New carpet is a terrible antqagonist. When my office got new carpet it was a year before I could work in it even though my allergist said it would be about six weeks. When I wanted new carpet I had to wear a gas mask to pick it out. Then they sent it out to be laundered and re turned to them before they laid it. The office part - I almost passed out twice. The antagonist is Ethylene Glycol though the MD said it was formaldehyde. My church just got new carpeting and I have not been able to be in church since -- don't know for how long. There is only one option AVOID!
