I am 54 and have been diagnosed with PMR for 11 months. My prednisone is down to 9 mg (barely) and I still have lots of pain and stiffness. But worse than that is that the tension in my neck and shoulders triggers horrible migraine headaches on the right side of my head. I also have a high-pitched ringing in my right ear for years, and now, a week ago, my right eye started twitching...most of the time. With everything going on in my head the pain and stiffness of the PMR is 'almost' secondary. The ear ringing and eye twitching I am learning to ignore...but the headaches...well let me just say...there are times when I just want to die! Is there anyone else suffering with migraines as a result of the PMR? If so, what do you do to help. Oh, I have MIDRIN for the headaches, but I might as well be taking baby aspirin for all it helps.
